so i'm in the gay chat room of a certain sight, which i thought was awesome in the past becuase i could just hang out an chill and talk, and i get put under attack about a lot of crap. About 20 miles north of a town called Hattisburg theres a privately owned and run exotic zoo that has snakes galore. I love snakes. Have always loved them. I'm going to school to be a vet. I'm not even going to run through everything else I've done, the people out there already know me know what I've accomplished. There is a gentleman in the gay chats who claims to have studied snakes since he could walk. i thought it was awesome. so i was telling him about the snakes, and the zoo's owner who deals primarily with the larger cats showed me a snake with horns on the top of his head and said he was highly poisonus. But i would have to ask her hubby, who handles the snakes if the horns were poisonus or not. She assumed they were, and in the case of poisonus snakes, its a good idea to assume the worst and be the most cautious. Sounded bloody reasonable to me! My biology coarses have been going through reptiles for the last month, and my research thesis and paper was written specifically on snakes and the Boa Constrictor adaptation that they have been discovering in Florida. Spicifically the venom fangs. 5 snakes have been found so far in the last 4 years. Thats five too many. I was not researching natural or unnatural habitats, i was researching the colimate structure with the spinal column, the jaw modification that makes a snake unique and so forth. I had added in the fangs for the boa as extra credit. Mr snake expert in the room laughed at me and called me dumb ass. He also informed me that he worked at a lab and was probably way smarter than i ever was. i asked him what did he do? he dodged the question for a few minutes, until he said physican special requests. I said ok, i worked for a lab up in michigan in between school semesters to recover from major surgery. i said was it physical, chemical, genetic or viral? he answers physical.
ok at this point let me explain what i'm doing. In a lab when a physican requests something special, he has sent in a specimen for analysis. based on these 4 things will tell you how you will test it and what you are looking for. Genetic is obvious, that would be blood and it gets sent to the ultra high, blow-ur-mind, and i'm not even going to go into the names microscopes to try and track genetic links between parents and what has come up as a sickle cell baby, a downs baby and so forth. viral requires a high powered microscope, some serious clearance depending on what the symptomology is that comes with it, and your 101 viral atlas to the body. typically this is also a body fluid. chemical is the same, but chemical comes in more from places that are doing drug screenings, OD's, military checks and so forth.
the physical is where the fun stuff comes in. Depending on what the requestor needs, you could get in anything from a blood sample, to a finger, to a whole carcass. what you are doing is taking pictures, samples and analysis of the physical break down of the tissues in front of you, and if a physican needs a link to a disease, link it. if a cop sends in a finger and says type the blood and tell me what the shavings are, you type it. sometimes we end up doing grunt work that the cops can't or won't do because they're overwhelmed. but most of the time, its tumors, and so forth.
so anyhow back to the guy. i said physical? i said what density and tissues? some labs will assign a particular area specifically for things like tumors, muscles, blood, etc. tissues is obvious, brain, heart, lung, muscle.. density is like the meat of the muscle vs the tendon. The "meat" is a very loose open density where the tendon is a very tightly packed hard density. they have their own rating scale which would make ur eyes cross.
when i asked the dude what density and tissues, he said i was trying to "trip him up"
i went uh huh.. so another guy jumps on me and said wait, ur how old and u've done what and u worked where and blah blah blah and starts giving me attitude about shit. just total nasty attitude. which i noticed no one else said anything to HIM about. i said to him i'm 28 and i graduated in 1996. so he laughs at me and goes how can u work in a lab and graduate in 2006? so i wasn't being nasty i just go.. are you dislexic? and he gets upset and goes yes i am and i hate it when people get attitudes with me like that and he goes and bans me! i'm like wtf! every gay man in that room can jump to the defense of someone who is getting into a pissing contest with me and losing becuase he's lying but the minute i prove someone wrong and ask a simple question i'm banned! what a rip.. well if they want to be that nasty bout stuff, they don't need to have me in there anyway.
ah well, time to try and find another chat room to haunt..
